University College Cork (UCC)

UCC offers a number of undergraduate science degrees with marine applications including geology, geography, environmental science, life science programmes through the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences and associate School (BEES) as well as energy and engineering through the School of Engineering (SE).

The total intake for these undergraduate programmes is around 200. A number of taught masters courses with strong marine applications are available, including Marine Biology, Coastal Management and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and GIS and Remote sensing (through BEES and its associated School of the Human Environment).

A number of research centers and groups operate within UCC including the Environmental Research Institute (ERI), the Coastal and Marine Research Centre (CMRC) and the Hydraulic and Maritime Research Centre (HMRC). The latter two groups form a core element of the recently established Marine and Energy Research Campus and Commercial Cluster (MERC3) based in Haulbowline Cork.
