SMARTSkills 2013 Workshop Speaker and Student Presentations Now Online

N

Presentations from the inaugural SMARTSkills Workshop are now online.  The workshop, Access to Research Funding and Marine Data, was held in the Marine Institute on the 24th and 25th of October. Twenty six experts from a range of Irish and International funding and research agencies outlined funding opportunities, data repositories and management methodologies to almost seventy postgraduate students drawn from Irish and European higher education institutes over an extremely busy and informative two days.  Students attending the workshop had the opportunity to present their research themes in a series of speed presentations interspersed through the two day event.

Thanks

SMART is extremely grateful to the Marine Institute for extending the use of their state of the art facilities to the workshop and GMIT for additional support in bringing this event to fruition. We are  profoundly indebted to our expert speakers for so many informative and highly current presentations.  Finally we would like to thank the postgraduate students and researchers who attended the workshop and who were truly representative of the quality and breadth of marine research taking place across the Island of Ireland. We wish them every sucess in completing their projects and programmes and in their future careers.
