National Training Support
An average of ten dedicated student training programmes led by third-level institutes are carried out annually onboard the R.V. Celtic Voyager as part of established modules. These courses provide training for upwards of 200 third-level students of marine related sciences.
SMART personnel support the design and development of such training programmes and participate in both ship and shore-based training to support HEIs. Shiptime for dedicated training is funded under the National Development Plan through the Marine Institute’s competitive grant-aided shiptime awards.
