Training through Research Surveys (TTRS) Deep-sea Oceanographic Survey

A fantastic opportunity to participate in a deep-sea oceanographic research survey has arisen as part of the Marine Institute and Smart Sea School’s Training Through Research scheme. The survey will take place from 5th to 19th Jan 2013 onboard the RV Celtic Explorer and will consist of two legs: 5 -10th and 11-19th Jan 2013. Survey operations include CTD and Glider work along with Met Buoy maintenance and deployments at the Porcupine Abyssal Plain (PAP) Site http://www.noc.soton.ac.uk/pap.

This opportunity is especially relevant to postgraduate students in science and technology seeking offshore experience and opportunities for date collection. Students are required to have PST Sea-survival certification (STCW95) and an up to date ENG11 medical certificate. This call closes on Thursday 20th December 2012 at 5pm.
